2011 335i Xdrive with Performance Edition - NEED ADVICE ASAP!!!
So, I need some help quick. I ordered a 2011 328i Xdrive and am waiting it for it to be shipped over. However, after I called the dealer today trying to get a new estimate on arrival date, they mentioned to me that they just got in stock a 2011 335i Xdrive with Performance Edition with basically the same options that I got on my ordered 328. I would obviously would have to pay alot more monthly for this upgrade but I am really considering pulling the trigger if I feel like I am getting a great deal so I need some quick help!!! I really appreciate any advice. They are about to email me their first offer but I know its gonna be crap so I was hoping that I could have some better info before I offer back.
2011 335i Xdrive with Performance Edition -Black Sapphire Metallic -M-sport package + Paddle Shifters -Cold Weather Package -Premium Package -Performance Package -Navigation -Harmon Kardon -Comfort Access -Satellite Radio MSRP + Destination = 56,700 1. What is the current Money Factor and Residual Value for a 36/10K lease for this car that I should be negotiating for? 2. What is the closest estimate of what the invoice price is? And what price should I be happy with over invoice? 3. What incentives are currently available? 4. What is the best possible monthly payment that I could potentially have? (JOPA: you out there? you had some great advice for me last time!!!!) Last edited by skim10; 10-25-2011 at 08:49 PM. |

1. Just FYI, this is the deal I got for my 328i that is currently on a ship!
2011 328i Xdrive Premium package Convenience package M-sport package -Paddle shifter upgrade -18" sport wheel package Value package Navigation Harmon Kardon hifi -MSRP $48,800 -selling price $45,240 -All fees and taxes rolled in to monthly payment: doc fee (75), bank (725), DMV (219), taxes (1844) -Down payment $4000 -Residual 64% -MF 0.00200 -Term 36/10k -monthly $474 (pre tax) 2. This is the deal that they just emailed me for the 2011 335i Xdrive with Performance MSRP $56700.00 Discount $3250.00 Rebate $750.00 Customer Price $52700.00 Trade Equity $2000.00 Customer Cash $2000.00 Documentary Fee $150.00 BMW Acquisition Fee $725.00 Lease Term: 36/10K DMV Fees Estimated: $244.00 Sales Tax Estimated: $2399.93 Lease MF: 0.00225 Residual Balance: $34587.00 (61%) Monthly Payment with Sales Tax Included = $698.76 Im pretty sure I can get the MF down to at least .00200 but any thoughts on the selling price? thoughts on ways to get the monthly payment down? 1. For a 2011 335xi Sedan for 36 months/10k miles per year, the MF is 0.00185 as set by BMWNA and the residual is 61%. Dealers are allowed to increase the MF by a max of 0.0004. The residual is set by BMWNA and is non-negotiable.
2. The closest estimate of invoice on an MSRP of 56,700 is 52,731 (93% of MSRP). $500 over invoice would be a good deal. 3. For a 335xi, there would be 3 possible incentives available: - $1,840 option credit - $750 lease cash - $1,000 loyalty (if you were a BMWFS customer within the past 6-12 months, I don't remember exactly) 4. I don't live in WA and I was just reading about sales tax in that state. It can vary from 6.5% statewide up to 9.5% (with local sales tax). There is also apparently an additional 0.3% sales tax for car leases. Are the 3250 in discounts the incentives? Is the 750 rebate the lease cash rebate I mentioned above? Where it says "Customer Cash", is that your cap cost reduction, meaning you're giving them $2,000 to reduce your monthly payment? I'd have to know more about the numbers listed to get an idea of what a good monthly price is. |

First of all, thanks for replying! As for your questions: Are the 3250 in discounts the incentives? -Yes the 3250 is the incentives including option credit (AWD credit) + a Lithia credit (a leasing co. discount) + negotiated price discount Is the 750 rebate the lease cash rebate I mentioned above? -YES Where it says "Customer Cash", is that your cap cost reduction, meaning you're giving them $2,000 to reduce your monthly payment? -Yes, it is a cash down payment. (I was going to look into the MSD as an alternative option) So it sounds like I should be happy with the selling price of the car at $52,700? Looks like the only wiggle room I have is to decrease the MF and think about MSDs...is this correct? Thanks for the help!!! Going to make final decision today so all the advice is appreciated! |

I know a lot of people really push for MSDs (and especially the max of 7 MSDs). However, it's a lot of money to tie up over the course of 3 years. |

That MF is wayyy uppp...if you cant get it down to .00185 then i wouldn't go with the deal, stay away from down payments on leases as well. Id rather pay an extra $20 a month then cough up $2k and if something happens during the lease i would feel bad coughing up $2K
I would do MSD's if you want to lower your payment, its money you'll get back after your lease unlike a down payment which vanishes

Ya I am definitely trying to get the MF down close to .00185 as possible. You think I should be happy with the selling price? Or do you think I should keep pushing to lower it and by how much do you think is reasonable? Thanks again! I actually still have until end of day to make a decision. |

So I got the MF down to .000185 so now the monthly is $660 with tax. Now I told them to tell me the new MF and new monthly if I eo $3000-4000 in MSDs instead of the cash down. Think Im getting closer. Thoughts? |

So you paid almost $9000 under MSRP? What would be helpful is stating how. Incentives? Plain negotiating? Etc? |

Yes, plain negotiating. I went to 3 different dealers and walked out of each one. I Called the 4th one, spoke to him over the phone and told him what I wanted and that I have walked out of 3 dealership, he said he ll call me back. 30 minutes later I had the deal I wanted :-) Now this doesnt mean you will also get this deal, bottom line is you just have to negotiate. The problem is, your already spoken for another car so they dont have to sell you this car unless I misunderstood your original post.
