Boosting Angel Eye Voltage - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

I was browsing the coding forum and notice a few mentions of people boosting the voltage of their angel eye bulbs during their dimmed state to get them to appear brighter/whiter while the main beams are on.

From what I gathered it's fairly easy with a coding cable but I couldn't find much about it other than brief mentions of the parameter that has to be modded.
For such a straight-forward mod it seems a great way of getting LCI style angel eyes without going down the LED ring route.

Has anyone here in the UK done this modification and where would I be able to buy the cable from over here?

Coding is anything buy simple to learn

I tried it and its a PITA, the cables run to about £70.

You may as well pay an 'expert' to do this for you - its far safer.
You can end up with a car that wont operate properly unless you are competent, so be warned mate

You can achieve the same effect by splicing the wires. I will dig out the link later

I spend a lot of time working with code so I've always wanted to give it a go but if an expert can do the same thing for less than the price of the cable then I would go with that route.

The wire splicing thing that Neil mentioned sounds much less risky and cheaper!

I tried searching myself but couldn't find a method that didn't require a specialised harness.

I'm waiting on an email to confirm if thread was taken down because its no longer the recommend way.

It simply involved using one quick splice connector

Sadly the wire splice was not 100% and cause lighting codes. Some it worked and some it didnt
