Metal rattle noise from engine bay when i open bonnet, sounds like a loose screw - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Hey Guys

Im aftre some help, i purrhchased my E90 320D MSport around 4months ago and i love it

Howver sometime when i open the bonnet i hear a one off noise, its like a screw rattling around somewhere.

The best i can describe it is as if, a screw has fallen off somehwere and has got stuck in a spinning motion somewhere?

Imagine a metal screw being put in a pint gladd and then you move the pint glass in a cicrlar motion and the rattle you will hear, is the rattle i hear when i pop the bonnet after a drive.

Any ideas guy and girls?

Abit of i weird one i know!!

I'm not familiar with the d engine, but could it be one of the bearings of the belt?

Try posting in a regional thread, we do not have the 320d in North America.

What kind of mpg are you getting?
