Fuel pump problem: Parked outside or Inside Garage?
For those who had the fuel pump problem on their BMWs, how many park their cars outside overnight or outside during day time?
Just try to find out if humidity or moisture have anything to this...

we haven't been able to find out the "root cause" of the HPP problem other than saying the pump is defective.
Just another valiant attempt, but from my experience with older cars, they have a harder time starting-up when parked outside overnight vs. inside the garage due to humidity and moisture build up.

this "study" is going to have a lot of flaws and really there's no sense in looking too far into it as it's simply a shitty fuel pump.
im expect to have skewed results because i would assume most people that have 335's have a garage to park their car in. now if you rephrased the question and make everyone answer regardless of whether their fuel pump failed you might have more conclusive results. but then again people with broken fuel pumps will probably be more inclined to respond. doesn't change the fact that the fuel pump is a problem and no matter what should not break if you park outside at night |

Read this on correlation and you will understand how silly your question is...
http://www.mega.nu/ampp/rummel/uc.htm Simply put... what you are asking is similar to the following: How many of you got a speeding ticket in the last 3 years? Of those how many of you have iPods? Your research may show that people with iPods get speeding tickets so don't buy an iPod... oh geez.
