V1 or passport 9500ix???

So I\'m in the market for a possible new radar detector but don\'t know what to get, so that\'s where you guys come in. Which one do you prefer??? Also if anyone else lives in Chicago, what do cops use around here?

EDIT: to answer your second part, Chicago PD is using Lidar now. Couple guys I know out there still run their stalker II's.

If I were to buy another one it would probably be a redline just to try it out. Reviews of it have been damn close to the v1, though at $100 dollars more than a V1, I might just go with what has worked for me in the last 10 years.

We have both. The V1 in the M3 (wife's) and the Passport in the Chevy (mine). We both have been saved numerous times. But, I hate listening to the V1 sqwauk all the time where my 9500iX is silent. Yeah, we can reach up and push the silence button, but why bother??? I do like the arrrows and kowing how many radars are being detected via the V1. But, it's more important for me knowing where the redlight and speed cameras are before I get to the intersection (9500iX).

V1 with the GPS would be the bomb. But, until then, I'll keep the 9500iX.
