Is anybody familiar with the Palisades Parkway? Us Jersey guys will be meeting up at the Best Buy in the Garden State Plaza, then we will be taking GSP North to I87 South to Exit 13N (Palisades Pkwy North). Does anybody know if there will be any rest areas once we get onto the Palisades Pkwy North from I87 South?

I know that you NY'ers will be meeting up at the Sunoco on the Palisades Pkwy. Just want to figure out a point where we all can meet up. This way we can setup a time and start a new thread and get it more organized.

from there... there is like a small rest area in the middle of PIP before exit 16 i think... no gas station or anything.. just a little museum type thing and some port-a-potties.... you guys can meet there if you want... hehe

When I get onto the Palisades Parkway North from I87 South, which exit will be the next one on the Palisades Parkway North? Or will the next exit be 16, so we should look for the rest area soon after we get onto the Palisades Parkway?

And how far is that rest area from the Sunoco gas station. This way I can figure out what time for everybody to meet at the rest area before Exit 16.

And Mike, do you want to be the contact person for the caravan coming from the Sunoco gas station?

i dont think id be going to the sunoco... because its pretty much at the other end of the PIP (exit1).....I live at exit 10 so it would be a bit of a drive =)..... however can meet at the rest area near exit 16....

pretty much from where you guys are coming... you take i87 south, stay in the left lane which will lead to an on/off ramp to i287 east.... then take exit 13N which will lead you to PIP North... exit for rest area will be on left

Got it. Do you know where the Mobil is after the Sunoco? Maybe, I can have everybody meet there instead first. Since, I'm thinking that the Mobil should be closer to the museum rest area than the Sunoco, right?

yes the mobil is closer... the sunoco is pretty much at the south end of the PIP and the Museum rest area is at the north end... if you are going north on the pip... the mobil is about 5 or so exits up

Not off topic at all. One of the reasons Im going to this shindig. Awesome shopping plus if you get there early enough, you beat the crowds.
