rattle noise.
I have a rattle noise coming from the car on idle and in neutral. Goes away when the clutch is fully pressed. Seems to get louder when the clutch is press halfway.
Did some research and getting a sense that it might be a "throw out bearing"? Anyone have this issue? Cost? Hope I don't have to replace the clutch. I changed out my CDV and brake fluid flush, I hope that had nothing to do it. |

May car has also done this since delivery, worse in the cold weather. Seems like it's the throw bearing.
I guess it's normal to a certain extent, maybe they will change it if it gets excessively louder ![]()

I've also had the same issue. It tends to sound louder in the colder weather, but it's still reasonably faint that I don't notice it most of the time. It has stayed the same since I bought it. Took it to BMW and they didn't think it was an issue, but also couldn't say what it was from.

I think it is the downpipes that is making the rasp noise when ur feet is just touching the gas paddle in lower (1st and 2nd mostly) gears. after some research I found a video that actually has the stock downpipes with the same rasp I do. but with the after market catless DP, it was gone.
link: I personally dont think its a big deal. but would love to know if this will cause problems in the future. |

At takeoff, you can hear if the downpipes are the source of the rattle as the pitch will change with increasing RPM.
I had my transmission swapped and it was a non-rattle one to one that rattles in neutral at idle. Needless to say, they wont give me a new one lol. Not too many people here have exhibited issues with the 6MT tranny, but I bet there will be a lot coming soon... |

One of my kids dropped a small toy which ended up in the under the seat foot heater vent that faces the back seat passengers feet, it used to rattle, buzz and clunk until I fished it out (small orange round octopus.)
