is resetting steering sensor necessary during alignment ?

I'm a Honda tech, and recently installed new wheels and tires on my 335i e90. It has sport suspension and 12mm rear spacers , but nothing else done to the suspension. I want to align the car at the dealer I work at , but heard about the steering sensor reset required and really dont want to have to spend $180.00 to another tech to align my car, at the local BMW dealer. What do you think ? Thanks for the input

Curious too. Have to have 4 tires mounted this weekend and a full alignment. Stock 162s with 18mm rear spacers.

Garage List
I think it's only fully necessary for cars with Active Steering. Otherwise, just make sure the wheel is centered perfectly when you do the alignment.
