Poll : Daytime Driving Lights

Only last light that I discovered that I could switch off the daytime driving lights on my e90 lci.

(the mrs doesn\'t like coz she finds it too showy)

Question to the forum is : do you have them on?

I have been so far and I\'m leaning towards a yes coz it\'s looks good how about you?

I leave them on. If you have angel eyes then from a distant people can see it's a bmw!

I believe the DRL's are a safety feature and therefore leave them on. My wife drives the car on the weekend, and therefore I would prefer them on.

Almost all modern cars have DRL's these days, so I dont believe them to be anymore showy than any other car. *shrugs*

This thread is useless without an actual poll.

It does make people notice ur car so I assume this improves safety somewhat in this respect.

I was posting this on my iPhone and there was no polling feature

Stock angel eyes arent too bright so its not really attention seeking... its as if you left your parkers on in a toyota camry

The stock ones on the new models are!
I think they look great on, but I leave my stock yellow ones off (that's until my Lux V3s get here, fingers crossed, this week sometime).

Does it annoy anyone else that every other manufacturer is jumping on the bandwagon? I think this was originally a BMW or Audi thing?

The Lexus is250 led strips look the worst so far... and HSV strips look pretty heinous too. Discovery's almost copy the angel ring design and most audi's and mercs have some form of DRL now too. I also quite like the occasional hilux or corolla custom fitted with fluro blue angel eyes, they look so grouse, I'd get me some of that bogan bling fo sure!!

I have mine on most the time, but do agree they are a bit showy/poser-ish

DRL is compulsory in Europe for safety reason and its not so much of a show off. Some felt that way as its quite new in Aus but they been around for years.

Being a stingy diesel driver, i prefer to have them off as it will hurt my fuel consumption.

But i am happy our Drl looks nothing like audi/Lex where they look exactly the same. Worst part is saw few e90 with audi strip DRL.........,,0respect.

I feel that DRL are mainly for attention seekers. In the case of poor light conditions, what is wrong with just turning on the parking lights?

I'd feel embarrased to drive some of the cars with LED strips mentioned here. It reminds me of the time when glow-sticks were cool. BMW Corona isn't nearly as offensive and I don't expect it to go out of fashion when the moment for LED strips finally passes.

DRLs are a lot brighter than parking lights.
