I have the old ccc i Drive system... if i update to this 2012 maps dvd will it bring me those 3d maps ???? or any kind of visual difference??

Sadly, no. I updated to the 2011 maps and got the same graphics, only with updated information for new neighbourhoods and newly constructed roads.

As others have said, the BMW maps are terrible, compared to Garmin or even Google maps on the iPhone. And the updates for those are free!

OEM 2011 Nav DVD's did not have speed traps and cam locations. OEM DVD's have never had this information.
Speed Cams and speed traps are usually added by extracting the OEM DVD files and adding the speed cam and speed trap locations and then burning them on a DVD again.

Mine had the option of them but it was not an oem disc. Would be nice to get the new dvd. Alot of restaurants missing from my area

you have a hard drive only, no dvd update for your car.
you can only go to the dealer for updates.

That is not true. You need 3 Disk DVD update with map FSC code to do updates on CIC based system. It takes a couple of hours and you can drive around while the update is in process.

Where do you get a 3 disk update? Whats on the 3rd disk? The nav is only 2. Also where can i get a fsc code? In canada?

The first problem I encountered was that the original seeder put a PW on the file and you have to sign up for some bogus offers to get it unlocked. After tricking that system to get the PW, I found the file name to be the 2011 version (NOT 2012).

Yeah lots of bogus torrents out there. Hence the reason I didn't post up the links. Real one should show up soon
