Find it strange that no one has mentioned that BMW Xenon lights aren't particularly good anyway - i find them poor to be honest.

Correct, they are "super wide angle reflectors" but they are also designed to have a sharp flat cut-off on top so that they illuminate the road "under" the fog, so properly aimed foglights shouldn't dazzle unless your windscreen's 18" off the ground!
