I jacked both sides up at same time. Took it off because my AE exhaust would not fit. Bad thing about leaving off is the chasis is not as rigid and could affect your top. Reason I say this is because I tried closing my top while my car was parked on a even surface. Top didn't shut right until I was on a level surface. Took it to dealership and they said this bars help stiffen up chasis. Recommended me putting them back on.

You have to remove it with an aftermarket exhaust, or at least the Vanguard you do. Mines are off and I've been driving around without it.
