As you've said, if you really throw the weight forward the front does bite very well. I also find that these cars are very easy to balance on the throttle, so (when you get it right) you can easily counteract any understeer by pushing out the back end. Driven hard I think this makes for very neutral handling and (at worst) a fairly benign 4 wheel drift. Quote:
If you are using the headphone outlet you need to turn the ipods volume all the way up because it's pre-amp is in play. If you are using the line out via the dock connector this should not be necessary. I have all my tracks normalised to 92dba and find the volume is fine (albeit very slightly lower than radio)

With aux in selected, one of the middle-ish buttons at the bottom of the display shows "aux-vol" or something like that, press that button then you can turn up the gain with one of the other many buttons.

Welcome to the forum. Looks a nice motor. I previously owned two diesels but by chance test drove a 335i instead of a 335d and fell in love. Now done over 12000 miles and loved every minute. Yes unleaded is dear, but the sound you get above 4000 RPM makes it all worthwhile!

I've tried "pinning" the front a little more, but clearly I was pinning the front as much as the ABS would let me... I'm wondering if there's a difference between the SE+M-Sport Suspension and the "real" M-Sport Suspension. ARB's perhaps. Does anyone know where I can find out the ARB sizes?

Dunno, mine's a non-IDrive with the Professional (I think) radio - it's one of the buttons for changing the radio station presets. Does that help?

I'm guessing that the aux input gain is part of the 6fl option, which sadly I have not got ![]()
