Your software is out of date but the auto day/night is not available on the e9x for some reason and the streaming part needs the USB in the armrest, not the one in the glovebox which you cannot stream from. Buying a map update will not update i-Drive firmware.

Certainly, but they'll charge you for it. On the older i-Drive it was possible to get a free upgrade by complaining that the unit continued to play CDs, on occasion, even when you'd switched off everything. This was a known issue and would get you a free software upgrade. I guess you could complain, assuming you have warranty, that the i-Drive keeps hanging up and hope they try updating firmware as a "resolution". Then you'd get 7 didgit postcode, live traffic etc if you don't have that currently and you have a CiC system.

Sorry for the resurrect, just need clearance. I picked up my e90 330d with DVD widescreen nav/I drive thingymajiggy (2006). I thought the screen was too bright at night and had to manually adjust brightness. So is there no night mode on mine? If not, will a software update give me one, and what else does the update do?

Thanks, I'm new to all this...
