Front door mid range speaker swap for an E90 - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

Hi there,

Can anyone advise me as to any replacement speakers that are a straight swap for the OEM 4" ones, ie. will bolt up to the original BMW 3 mounting studs without modification.Looking for an improvement over the stock base audio ones while not having a problem with mounting depth.

I have and can find plenty of speakers that will fit. I just wondered if anyone knew of a speaker that was a straight bolt in (besides the OEM ones). Most speakers have 4 mounting hole, the BMW ones use 3.

You can always upgrade to the HiFi and L7 speakers. Search on ebay

Your easy options:
Bsw
Oem alpine hifi upgrade
Any listed 4in speaker with an adapter ring (easy)
Musicar kits (incl adapter rings and p+p harness)

Whats your budget. I might recommend the hifi upgrade

Thanks taibanl. Budget depends on who you ask, me or the wife. Not sure she would understand why I need to spend money on a BMW so will probably do the upgrade in stages. You have given me food for thought. Thanks again.

I'd be on the lookout for a logic 7 set and pick those up. If you don't currently have front tweeters, that's also a good upgrade that isn't too expensive.
