Wonder if BMW can plug into the ECU and spot if a map's been installed also if we installed a tuning box and removed it prior to service/warranty work etc, could they notice a box's been installed?

215 is the highest I was recommended to go. Allowing for RR overread anything between 205 and 220 I'd be happy with

If BMW really want to find out if the car's been mapped they will.
Someone more technical can correct me if I'm not quite on the mark here.. But.. All sorts of readings are kept to memory.. boost pressure over time, AFR, alot more averages we can't see on the iDrive (or hidden menu). They can also see how many times the ECU was flashed and what the signature on the sender is, if you use OBD. (Again. I know I'm talking something close to the truth here but maybe not quite correct re: terminology.. ) A piggyback box is best as you can remove this and there's no trace on the ECU: But arguably not as a good a remap as it's just applying multipliers to settings..
