Congrats!

I'm strongly considering picking one up from Tischer for my '11 335i but am worried about how it will sound at highway speeds (drone, etc.). Please report back once installed!

Sure will because I'm not crazy about drone either. Work schedule is keeping me busy but will be getting it installed Wednesday hopefully. Still debating whether to use an indy garage in town or the dealer for the install. I've heard nothing but good things about this exhaust, esp with the N55, so I'm sure I'm gonna love it.

I emailed the Tischer website to my SA at the dealer and he matched it. $1335 plus tax and I avoided the shipping. Get it back tomorrow with PK2 installed.

There can be a little drone, but nothing you can't fix via throttle...or turning up the radio. It sounds phenomenal and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. I do a lot of highway driving and doesn't bother me at all. It is a little loud on cold start-up...according to my neighbors, Ha, but quickly quiets down. I've got multiple videos on youtube if you search, although no inside vids, will see if I have one and post, so you can here in the cabin with the PE. Go for it!

Nothing against Tischer, as heard nothing but good things, but I got mine from Patrick at www.bmwpartssource.com for $1287 shipped on special and my dealer outside Philly installed for $125.

That's a PHENOMENAL deal. Congrats! I doubt my dealer would have matched it, since they're telling me that it takes "quite a bit longer than 1 hour" to install the PE.....

Sorry!!! Life got busy these past few days. So the Perf Exhaust is AMAZING. I heard them start it up at the dealership after the install and I immediately started grinning. It was raining on the drive home so I didn't get to hear much, and it rained the next day too. Drove her yesterday and wow...cold startup is much louder than stock (lack of butterfly valve) but after 20 seconds it's as quiet as stock. Cruising around town there is no drone in cabin. Just a nice growl when you get on it from a stop. On the highway, it's relatively quiet up to 60mph. Around 2K RPM and 60 mph there is just a SLIGHT drone and if you adjust the throttle a little it helps. Not bad. Gonna see how it sounds after it breaks in for a while. At higher RPMs it sounds incredible. Period. My only gripe are the exhaust tips. The tips are single walled thin stainless steel. When I received my exhaust from Tischer, I didn't unwrap the tips simply because they were very well wrapped and padded with cardboard. Well a few days later I take it to the dealer for the install and I notice that my right side tip is dinged on the very edge, not simply a dent that could be reshaped. Not too happy about that. Oh well, to those who get this exhaust shipped to you, immediately unwrap it and check the tips. Theyre very thin so I'm not surprised they got knocked around and dented. I haven't contacted Tischer cause honestly I don't know that there's anything that can be done. I guess my backup plan is to get new Dimisa tips installed. Anyways bottom line, I can't wait for the summer to ride around with the windows down and radio off just to listen to the exhaust.

Congratulations!!! I have my windows down even on cold days. The PE is truly a great-sounding exhaust, I have received nothing but compliments. Classy and sophisticated. The exhaust note is quite dynamic too, the burbles/crackling on downshifts is eargasmic.

My tips are flawless. I highly doubt Tischer would have shipped anything damaged .... in the past, they have delayed sending me parts because they arrived blemished at their warehouse. Probably happened at the installer but of course, you can't prove it. :-\

You can get the tips cut off and weld something else on. I do not know what kind of impact that would have on the sound though. I wouldn't recommend changing them.

I had the PE exhaust installed on my 11 e90 for a few days, only put a few miles on them but did notice the drone only at highway cruising speeds (70-80) decided to take it off as I know it would have driven me nuts on a long drive, just me I guess. The sound is amazing which is what prompted me to buy it. I can attribute a good part of the drone to my car being a 6at. Most 6mt cars don't seem to have the drone, at least not nearly as bad as the 6at cars I was told due to the different final gearing at certain speeds. Hope this helps anyone looking to buy one of these. Also if you're looking for one for your 335 sedan I have one in the BMW box with under 100 miles on it.

I was given a ride in CJ421's beautiful whip and it sounded amazing with the catless downpipe and exhaust!

I would highly recommend it from what I have heard if your looking for a change in exhaust note. I may do it one day in the near future.....

***UPDATE****
So I recently took my car on a 2 hour drive from Knoxville, TN to Chattanooga after installing the Performance Exhaust. I was worried at first that there would be drone the whole drive....NONE...ZIP...ZERO. I was driving around 65-75 the whole drive (gotta watch for police), and I at one point I honestly forgot my car had the perf exhaust. It sounded like stock on the long drive cruising on the interstate. Once I got to Chattanooga, I parked in a parking garage and had to search for a parking spot with my windows down. SOUNDS SO SEXY! That cemented that for me, my performance exhaust is here to stay! AND, about the dented exhaust tips, my dealer is hopefully working on getting a warranty replacement for me after some assistance from Evan at Tischer. All in all, I'm happy!
