Stretched Tires - need a new set, good brands?

My car is currently out of commission, since my Cooper Zeon 2XS in the rear pretty much blew up on me.

So, I need a pair of 265/30/19 tires for a 19x11 Avant Garde M310. Hoping to get something from discount tire or other local equivalent here in Dallas. Hopefully soon since my rental car is a Toyota Camry, for $35 bucks a day...

These are some of the choices from discount:
Falken 452s
Ventus V12s
Yokohama S. Drive
Nito NT 555
General G-MAx AS-03
Continental ExtremeContact DWS

Any recommendations?

Really think I'm going to go with the Falken 452s.

From that list FK452 would have the best stretch as they are made for stretch. Toyo Proxies would have the best stretch out of all the tire brands IMO.

Went with the Falken 452's in 265/30/19 for my 19x11 rears! Wish me luck!

Any recommendations on PSI to run in these bad boys? I was running about 36-38 below and think that might partially be why the previous set got shredded. I've heard any where from 40-42 should be good?

Many have said that the Falkens were meant for stretching so that's one of the most popular choices, along with Toyo T1Rs. Hankooks are pretty true to size, and S.Drives are a little wider than the Hankooks.

Either way, good luck! What exactly happened to your previous set? I'd say 36-38psi is about what it should be at.

If you had very bad wear in a short period of time it's probably an alignment issue.

Have them flip them and swap left n right. This counters the directional issue. T1r and falken sucks ass for stretching far as contact patch is concern.

I did and currently running them in the wrong direction to salvage some more miles out of them.

My next tires will be symetrical.

Ah but im saying if you actually dismount the tire and swap them side to side being asymetrical will not be an issue. Its almost like riding on new treads again.

This is pretty common for people running lots of camber. If you can find a place to swap sides it won't be a problem, assuming you're not showing wires or anything crazy like that.

Saying if I just swap rear wheels on each side its the same contact patch.
I had a shop dismount tires, and swap rims to get to the good tread, result is the arrows on the side wall now point the wrong way. Bad for traction, good for squeezing extra daily mileage.

It's complicated and confusing as hell as I thought when ordering I was avoiding this situation, fail on my part understanding asymmetrical tread vs symmetrical. Great tires though!

Its also dangerous in wet conditions being those grooves are channeled to shed water out, careful!

Can't speak to anything other than the Ventus. The ride is good but the traction has been average IMO.

Falken 452 would be my vote as well esp, if you're looking to run an aggressive fitment as it does feature a rounded sidewall. Post up some pictures once you have it all done as I'd like to see how the 19x11 setup turns out!

Ventus are too soft for me liking. I've gone through two sets of rears while the fronts have lots of tread left.

The car was aligned before the second set of rears and still they wore out uneven due to neg camber of BMW.

Switching to something with better treadware. Hopefully Cont-DWS will due a better job.

Ventus Tread rated 280
Conti DWS Tread rated 540

Just an FYI, you should only use tread ware comparisons to compare against tires from the same manufacturer. The tire manufacturer assigns the tread ware number based on tread ware against their own brand. SOOO, a 500 tread ware to Michelin may expect 50,000 miles whereas a 500 tread ware for Yokohama may expect 70,000.

Food for thought....

really? I always tread wear was the same among all manufactures, just like speed ratings...

Nope. The UTQG or "uniform tire quality grading scale" is all up to the manufacturer to plug in whatever numbers they want. It is NOT a set of performance measurements or benchmarks as speed ratings are. UTQG ratings should only be compared within THAT manufacturers line up. An "B" traction tire for Michelin may have better traction than an "A" traction tire for another manufacturer and vice versa.

Funny how they forgot to let everyone know that the "Uniform" in UTQG is not uniform across all manufacturers, and you can bet that some tire company's take advantage of this...
