Did you ever compare sensitivity to the OEM L7's?

The Stage 1 are not intended to be amped by anything other than OEM amp. They have a new drop in ampable replacement set.

BMW did exactly that, so what's the problem?

It cannot be said that it is because the Coupe and Convertible require different drivers to sound the same as the Sedan, as you can get the same set of Focal 100KP components that fit all the models and still sound great in all of them.
Do the Focal's 100 4" fit without any major mods in the E90's sedan front doors?

Pretty much all the 4 inch speakers in the list fit

Pretty much all the 4 inch speakers in the list fit in the sedan and wagon
with and adapter ring to hold the speaker in place on the factory lugs. The coupe is depth limited but some have figured out work arounds, I don't know the details on that .

What speaker list the one inside this thread.

The most common used are Morels and Focals next Rainbows and Diamond audio.
