HELP - super noob wants Ipod & bluethooth in e92

Hi all,

I have just bought a 2007 e92 SE. It has the professional radio but no bluetooth or ipod control. It has an aux in the arm rest.

I would love to get factory retrofit bluetooth and ipod control but have been quoted 3k to get it done.

I don't mind getting the parts and fitting myself but not sure what parts i need and where/how/if to programe. no idea what 6fl,tcu or fzd is.

I fitted a parrot kit in my last car and the bluetooth was good but the sound was pants. So i'm after the factory setup or just gonna get a pioneer avic-f30bt.

can anyone advise?

UPDATE: have been advised by BMW that bluetooth is not available as a retrofit as phone prep is not present

if it costs that much to retrofit factory equipment then you're better off going the aftermarket route.

Im in the process/mindset of swapping in a Pioneer AVHP4300 DVD reciever
way more features than the OEM equipement and i'm assuming you don't have idrive (which i dont) i paid just under 600 US dollars for all the parts and i plan on installing them myself. I just havent gotten around to installing it. I have the radio headunit and miscelanous parts sitting in my room

PS. this is the best route if youre factory equipped with HIFI stereo

if you have Logic 7 you need to get a new amplifier because of something about fiberoptic connections being somewhere.

You have to read up on it a lot too do your research

FYI

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...light=mobridge
The above only works for Most Based systems.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...hlight=dynavin

removing the radio gives you another set of problems but people do deal
with them.
You have to watch out for the BMW programming problem with no OEM
Head Unit and the rest of the stuff that doesn't work. Don't throw away your old head unit.

Thanks guys.

I have no drive and don't believe I have logic 7 as there are no tweeters I can see.

Is most like a type of can bus?

Hmm

if after market units are gonna give hassle with the pdc and other things then mobridge it is then. not fussed about nav and video as I never used it on my last pioneer system.

Although a double din would have been cheaper. I'm not keen on wiring the pro radio in the trunkor losing features

The problems with all aftermarket head units

Are the same until someone can make one that gets
it to look like a BMW Head Unit to the rest of the car.

If you have an Idrive that would really be a hassle to remount somewhere else.

The most bus is explained in the entertainment pdf its a fiber optic bus .
Europe has had the base stereo system for awhile you may not have a most
bus for that in which case you would have to find a different adapter.
Dension makes quite a few.
Mobridge is a most bus only company .
