Some more meth dyno testing results for you. The JB4 + WW meth is a pretty strong runner! Also very interesting info on duty cycles and targets that were discussing in the other thread. This 5th gear dyno run looks sexy as hell.

Test car and relevant mods: 2008 135i step, CPE downpipes, CL midpipes, BMS DCI, eBay version "big tom" intercooler, 93 octane, mid 70s in the dyno room.

1) For the testing I was running a 80/20 meth mixture with a CM10 nozzle.

2) The richer low end AFR targets are working well on and off meth. We're targeting around 13:1 now down low vs. 14.7:1 down low stock. This is with a 60% enrichment factor. There is plenty of room to go richer but this is the sweet spot for this firmware/mapping.

3) I used a 65 additive in 4th gear runs which resulted in the back to back 440+whp runs but with a ~2psi under target at redline. I could actually write a paragraph on duty cycles, targets, etc, but long story short just keep in mind on a dynojet doing ~5 second 4th gear runs you will have more of an under target tendency than on the road or a load dyno. Also note on the road I would not run a 65 additive unless you have race gas in the mix.

4) I've been running a 50 additive around town and boost is always right on target so as a test I did a 5th gear pull which instead of ~5 seconds took around ~10 seconds. A little closer to reality. The result was the highest output and boost back on target. Also glad to see the SLD is working well as the car would otherwise be capped at 130mph.

5) As you can see from the 5th gear runs it does not take a ton of boost to make a lot of power. All you need is 18psi tapering to 15psi at redline to pretty much max things out.

It's the same dyno they use (SpecialtyZ) and I'm sure there are plenty of baselines floating around for it. I remember seeing 305-310rw FBO before? On the same day they did 395rw with the Cobb S2+ Aggressive on pump gas so I'd say it's a pretty average dynojet. I'm looking forward to seeing the 60-130s on this combo. Maybe it will give Hotrod a run for his money?

Lol, that's an optimistic dyno then. On my purported poor dyno runs, I baselines 277whp STD FBO, which is 30 whp under what this dyno is spitting out.

I surmise I would be at 436-440 whp with the Cobb race map if I were on this dyno. I dynoed 373whp STD on Cobb stage2+FMIC aggressive on this low reading dynojet which would be around 403-405 whp on this dyno in Cali.

Hotrods secret is weight reduction through seat removal, unsprung weight drop through lightweight wheels and favorable conditions. No secret behind that.

We NY/NJ guys may be at sea level or better, but we routinely see 40-100% humidity, something the west coast guys almost never see.

277rw is what cars put out stock on this dyno. That is pretty normal I think for dynojets. If you are only making 277rw with full bolts ons your dyno reads lower or your car is making less power than others. Did you do a few runs stock + FBO to ensure you had the full advance and no throttle closure? Sometimes you can game the system by doing a "stock boost" run with the wrong adaptions and get a really low number but you won't be able to make that over 2-3 pulls stock tuning. Find a better dyno to find out.

277 stock FBO is definitely 25-35 HP low.

I'm near sea level. But only a few miles from the ocean, so humidity is definitely not considered low here. Foggy very often, dew on the car in the morning leaving it soaking wet. Many of my tests were done on fairly damp surfaces from the fog/humidity. But definitely the best conditions are on the lower humidity days. But I also have record breaking numbers in ~90% humidity. Also, as I have shown, my stock numbers were right in line with magazine times.

There another dyno I did my 135i on which gave me 295whp baseline FBO stock mapping. Needless to say, the numbers made more sense on that dyno hitting 424whp. Goes to show without a baseline, peak numbers are useless.

If you are on the fence with meth...pull the freaking trigger! You will not look back. I've fallen in love with my car all over again. Made 414rw on a 40 additive with a 293rw baseline with jb4, dp's, dci and meth. Care pulls like a freight train!

Oh I plan on getting it LOL. I was just wondering if BMS will make the meth map available to the public/current JB4 users. You made only 293 with those mods? I would think you would make an easy 350.

Well, running the stock turbos at pretty high psi is gonna make a lot of torque but not as much power as bigger turbos.
IMO, Id rather make less torque and more hp, I love having a lot of torque, but torque is what kills transmissions

No 293 was baseline on map 0. I made 414rwhp and 446tq on meth.
