Charge Pipe Question
The more I read about them, the more I realize i should probably get one. I currently have DCI, Catless DP's, and Cobb as far as engine mods go. I do not ever plan to go Meth (at least not in the near future).
SO my question is: which would be the best bang for my buck charge pipe? I'm not a big fan of the BOV ricer sounding stuff so I would ideally like to stay away from that. I am a super noob when it comes to stuff like this so any input would be great.

CP
Hey,
We have a chargepipe option available for your needs. If you don't like BOV that is perfect for our charge pipe because we designed it to work with factory DV or upgrade Forge Motorsport DV's. By volume I don't think there is another CP in the market that is bigger than ours. The CP is a perfect combo for our PWM meth kit but if you don't plan on running a meth kit this CP will work perfectly fine still. Let me know if you have any questions. Regards, Robert@Vishnu |

What are the benefits for going with an upgraded charge pipe ? I Don't care about BOV myself.

Though I'm not a huge fan of ear piercing BOV's, I think I will be going with the CP-E/Tial BOV kit myself. From the videos I've seen this kit isn't obnoxious sounding at all.

The stock charge pipe has been known to become unattached due to increased boost. I went with the Stett CP with Forge DV's because I thought a BOV would get annoying after some time.

Did you buy it straight from STett, or is there a forum vendor that sells it?

ER CP or Vishnu CP matched with Forge DDVs. Can't go wrong.

The ER CP is by far the most popular and the best priced on the market. Its by far my most popular and comes with the most options available on the market, in terms of finish and BOV or DV options.
Shoot me a PM and we can discuss further if you want. Mike

My opinion at this point is don't mess with it unless you're having issues with your CP. I'm Cobb Stage 2+ and am holding (and oddly making slightly more) than requested boost on the stock charge pipe.
It would be a no brainer to upgrade... except it's hard to swallow $650+ for a short piece of pipe with a slight bend in it plus a couple DV's. |

I've had the Cp-E and Tial BOV and now I run the ER and tial Bov. From the charge pipe alone there really is no power added. If you run methanol then the larger diamater piping can help in atomization though.
Most people who upgrade the charge pipe plan on going the methanol route but you dont necessarily have to go methanol to upgrade. If you dont want a BOV you can always add a forge DV option or turbosmart DV options to replace your factory DV and keep the stock charge pipe or you can buy a charge pipe that utilizes factory style DV options. All of this is really a matter of preference or goals with the equipment. I like the ER charge pipe because of how it mounts just like factory. They also mount their meth nozzles in the right location unlike some other charge pipes. |

I havent heard of alot of people having problems with stock CP's lately at all?
Im FBO and running a custom map on a stock CP and i hold boost fine all logs are clean. As do a few of my friends i know. As someone mentioned, if you are not having problems, dont mess with it. |

Lower wgdc allows for more efficiency of the turbo, providing lower IAT, and naturally not leaking small portion of boost. All of this attributes to more efficient use of the turbo's and provides more power inevitably as well as throttle response. |
