Quite possibly but keeping my warranty in mind an OEM part gives me one less part to change out if I need to make a claim. There's only so much money I'm willing to spend on the the BMW Performance part anyway as it's second hand used.

I was almost going to buy the Perf exhaust then heard that on the E92, as it lacks the resonator that is found in the e90, DP's + Perf exhaust can sound raspy. Many of the USA guys have fitted resonators in place of secondary catts I believe to overcome this.

How long did they let the Back Box bed in? Most free flowing exhausts sound raspy until they get a nice layer of carbon on them. My scooby's system sounded 'Chavtastic' for the first 500 miles

My perf exhaust has just bedded in properly, it got louder after about 800 miles and I am well pleased with it.
To fully appreciate it, you need to go on a decent run, rather than sit there revving it, which isn't really normal driving anyway. It sounds like a proper rally car. especially with the downshifts on the DCT box. When driving along a built up street it's at its best (and obviously through tunnels), it sounds amazing. Note, the one on ebay, the user doesn't state that it comes with the couplings and this will set you back about £60 from BMW. Also, the part number ends in 633, the same number as mine, this is the original perf exhaust and is louder than the latest one ![]() If you can get this for less than £600, then go for it. This is by far the best money I've spent on my car as I think the OEM exhaust sound is too quiet. I mean for a £40K 300hp car, it is disappointing (even with the golf tee mod).
