Coding second hand lighting module
I want to fit the LCI rear lights to my E92, but as my car is a 57 plate im assuming it has the FRM 2 version lighting module. If i were to buy a FRM 3 module from a breakers would i be able to use it? Also most lighting modules listed on ebay say E9x so im assuming any module would fit from either model of the E9x family?
Any help appreciated Last edited by HB330i; 02-12-2012 at 05:34 PM. |

Two things - as you have an e92 you obviously have xenons so a module from an E90, say, might be for halogens (i.e. with the manual thumbwheel for headlamp aim) so make sure you get a European (front and rear foglights) xenon version.
Secondly, on the E46 the lighting module also held redundant mileage information - if you changed the module then the "mileage tamper" warning would come on in the dashboard.
