CF Vinyl better than CF Fabric

I’ve work with Carbon Fibre Fabric & Carbon Fibre Vinyl to wrap interior trim on couple of cars lately; personally, I love the CF Vinyl way more than the CF Fabric. CF Vinyl is more durable (not as easily scratched or cut), edges and corners look better (because even after stretching, CF waves stay the same) and most importantly, you can just peel off the CF Vinyl and it will turn back to its original (will not leave glue residue, no need to sand or repaint).

Here are some photos of my E90 and another member’s E92 with CF Vinyl wrapped interior trim that I done.

If anyone in GVA is interested in wrapping their interior trim, check out my post. >>>>

Stellar job, that's one of the best wraps I have seen...didn't notice any folds in the really tough spots.

Well done!

You asked if CF wrap is permanent....
It clearly states the answer to that question in his original post....

What type of CF vinyl was that? It looks like Dinoc to me. Have you tried the 3M Scotchgaurd 1080?

Which brand

Do you have any recommendations on which brand to use - there are so many out there to choose from. I am looking at two in particular - the 3M and the bubble free ones (all off ebay). Also how much do you need just to do the trim on dash, iDrive area and doors?

Thanks in advance.

I used 3M Scotchprint 1080, which is a little thinner than Di-Noc and very easy to work with.
A 2' x 5' piece should be enough, even taking into account a couple of mistakes, for rear door trim, front door trim, dash left piece, dash center/right piece and center console, including ashtray if you have one.
If you do the work in the sequence listed, you will be gradually learning the skills you will need to do the center console-- basically, long flat pieces, outside corners and inside corners..

1080 Anthracite CF is more silver, a lighter shade than the Black CF

Beautiful job, bro, both of them! Some of the pics show in great detail the nice texture of the vinyl CF. This was the first time I tried it myself, on my touring. I want another to see if I can handle the difficult parts better.
