Issues with KW V1 rear shocks leaking? where to buy new shocks?

I just got KW V1 coilovers installed a few months ago. I believe I got the coilovers in december. So they have been on since late december. My car is in the shop getting breaks put on and the guy told me my rear shocks are leaking. Would this be under warranty or how would this work? I bought them from PYSPEED on the forum but havent talked to them yet. Just looking to see what my options are for getting this issue fixed.

Does anyone know where I can buy two rear shocks for the KW V1 coilovers for a 2007 BMW 335i sedan? I just bought them and they are already leaking. They are under warranty but need to be removed from the vehicle for at least 2 weeks. And this is my only car so Im looking for a way to just replace them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Where are your stock rear shocks? Use them. They're way better than the ones that came with my ST V1's kit, I believe they're the same structural properties as the v1s.

I still have the stock shocks, I just didn't think they were matched to work with a KW coilover kit. wouldn't that cause issues?

Nope, no issues so far. Been on for 3 weeks now..just compress the OEM ones with your hand, and compress the ones that came with the V1 kit. See which one is tougher.

Ok if I have the OEM rear shocks installed while the KWs are out for repair, will I also need an alignment after the OEM shocks are put in? Then when I recieve the KW shocks back and install them, does another alignment need to be done?

You should get an alignment whenever your suspension components have been changed dramatically. In your situation, I would recommend an alignment each time you change out the shocks.

KW has a lifetime warranty on their products.

this might be the case but for a coilover to start leaking with less than a year on them and with a conservative drop is pretty disappointing. plus the fact you have to incur the removing and shipping costs...

Garage List
2007 E92  [2.50]
thread is over 2 years old guys..Phil and the guys at KW will rebuild or fix if you are the original owner. If not, maybe $125 each rebuild. Of course you have to take them off and send them to them, unless you live in CA.
