2010 328i non I-drive USB Question

Hello gents,

My car has a USB and AUX input in the center console, but the USB doesn't seem to recognize my iPod, iPad, nor iPhone. I was reading the owner's manual, and it talked about hooking up the aux and USB to the iPod (which didn't make a lot of sense) but I tried that an no luck there either. Is this a common problem, with an easy fix, or am I off to the dealer for some warranty lovin'?

You need the special split cable with both USB and mini jack on one end and the iPod connector on the other. Usually one is included with new cars.

You connect both parts in the armrest connectors. It allows control of the iPod via the head unit and passes audio via the mini jack.

Thanks for the response. I just purchased the car a week ago, I'll have to see if they'll toss one in on a CPO. Really appreciate the response!

^ i got my salesman to. He said "i usually snag these out of cars that come back from lease just for this instance"
