Thumbs up New exhaust + Backbox @ MIJ Exhaust Birmingham

Hey guys!

Just got my new exhaust done! I went for the "midsport" version.

All I can say is my car sounds like a beast and looks the part:

Everyone there were brilliant! Excellent advice! Great Deal!

Never really been a fan of custom build exhausts I'm afraid. Rarely are they as good or as well made as some of the big manufacturers.

It's nice tips he has clamped on though.

I guess it's a bit loud?

I have to disagree I think it depends where you get them from. My BCS box is far better quality finish than OEM one and being SS want rust and go horrible as the OEM one. When my OEM one got damaged it was a no brainer.

Had a BCS back box and SRS to fit it. Looks good and easier to clean , noise wise a bit louder at top end but then its a diesel on mine

Certainly a good job on that one

Chris - if you're in Warrington try Blueflame exhausts, I've seen their work, it's excellent.

OP - my first SS exhaust was by MIJ - they're very, very good at what they do. Good choice

I am really liking those tips just thinking if similar tips could be welded onto mine?

Thanks to the OP I have just got off the phone to MIJ and fingers crossed this sat (time permitting) I will be able to get the old tail pipes cut off and new 4" round pipes welded on.

I am undecided whether to go for staright cut or slashed? any opionions?

Im only doing this for the aesthetics (sp) as imo the twin single pipes on my 335D look way to small in diameter and dont fill the arch in the bumper cut outs as well

I agree with mistryn - the OE 335 exhaust tips are too small for the cutouts.

I vote for straight though - have a search for pictures of the 335 Milltek exhaust, it looks brilliant

Hi,

no Mongoose have always been part of Collins based in Congleton. Blueflame has always been a separate company (albeit now in it's 2nd guise I think..).

Blueflame have a very good reputation, as do Mongoose.

Back to the OP - looks good buddy

Sometimes you need to go for custom to suit your requirement and some centre's really are just as good as the main stream brands. I wouldn't discount using one for my 335i but the only problem with them is that they are worth almost nothing on the second hand market if you return your car to stock.
