Alarm beep on lock/unlock

I can successfully code the Alarm beep on lock/unlock on my 2009 E90 LCI, but this doesn't work on my friend who has the same car as me.

Are these the right codes? The excel says 2009 model is not supported but I can get it works on mine...

Alarm beep on unlock DWAI QUIT_AKUST_ENTSCH
Alarm beep on lock DWAI QUIT_AKUST_SCHAERF

When I change both to "aktiv", lock beep is on but unlock beep is off...

Did you reset the modules by processing the car or processing individual modules w/ a blank .MAN file when you first installed your and your friend's alarm?

Just go into the idrive or bc stalk and uncheck then recheck the chirp confirmations. should be fine.

No, I didn't. I just use the .man file that I use to my car.

Can I do the reset now?

I had coded the fold mirror and digital speedometer on his car. Hopefully I didn't mess it up..

I was thinking about this this morning, but perhaps from a different angle. My car with alarm beeps when I lock it that one time. But as I'm walking away and my slight OCD kicks in, sometimes I'll grab the fob and hit the lock button again (just to make sure I actually locked it and wasn't thinking about some other time)... I don't hear or see anything, unless I'm standing right up next to the car, in which case I can hear the door lock actuators cycling. Is there a way for the alarm to beep every time I press the lock button, or for the lights to flash a certain way or something?

Interesting. I also like that option.

My retrofitted alarm on E92 beeps upon lock & unlock, lights also flash on lock, & welcome lights come on upon unlock.

I added the alarm to my VO though (which is really the correct way to do it) all the alarm functions, panic, etc. were automatically enabled after VO update.

Yes, you can go into iDrive or use your stalk to control if & when the beeps sound and/or light flash - but all these features were already ON once I updated my VO.

The selection fields are added but on a couple of cars I've coded there is a slight glitch where they don't beep on lock. So I have to uncheck the confirmation field and recheck it. No biggie.

Courtesy interior lights illuminate with second push.

And if I remember correctly from my e39... A second push of lock button within 30 seconds of first disables interior motion sensors.
So your double tab is prob not a good thing.

Program the mirrors to fold. Then you'll see them up and know ur car is locked.
Yes a double push will illuminate the clown nose solid for a brief period indicating the sensors have been disabled.

I also do the folded mirror trick lol

Hey folks, I did a quick search and didn't find the exact answer I need:

I have a 2007 E93, no alarm system. It is completely stock, and does not beep at all when I lock or unlock it. The dealer just gave me a 2012 loaner car and it does beep on lock/unlock. I had this on my old 1997 528i, and really miss it. Can a 2007 be coded to beep on lock/unlock, even though it does not have an alarm? Is an alarm required to get the beep or does the car have beep capability that can be accessed through coding?

Thanks in advance for your help!

so my 2008 bmw 335i covertible is prewired for the factory alarm, since i have the red clown nose on the rear view mirror. so i ordered the oem factory convertible alarm system from tischer bmw. i went to my local dealership and they said since i installed a LCI IDRIVE Controller(this is the idrive controller found on '11 bmw's) that my alarm cannont be coded to work. meaning no BEEP noise when unlocking or locking....... but when i lock my car my clown nose does blink but i just dont have no BEEP sound at all.....

they said i need to install the old IDRIVE controller in order for my oem alarm to work..is this true? or could a shop other then the bmw dealership code it to beep when locking and unlocking?

Are you saying that if I have the clown nose, then the car is pre-wired for alarm? I have the clown nose...it currently does nothing.

How much was the alarm system from Tischer?

No after Mid 2009 you are not prewired regardless or red clown nose.

Hold your trunk button on your keys for 3-4 seconds, if it doesn't trigger the alarm you don't have it.

Damn so that means I'll never have a beep when I lock my car. I have a loaner today and I wish I had it.

Unless you install an aftermarket solution or can source a Euro Retrofit kit that is rumored to exist for non-prewired cars (US dealers won't know about it or be able to order).

Question

Hey guys... I had my alarm coded by one of the SoCal vendors and noticed I have no control over the alarm in iDrive or on the Stalk... did the vendor not do something, or did I not ask for something specific?

Without mine being prewired, does anyone have suggestions on getting my 335d to beep.

iDrive control would be nice, but as long as I don't need a second FOB ad can just hear a beep when I hit lock and unlock, I don't even need a real alarm.

I would go get your money back for an incomplete job. Make sure you are looking in the right place: Confirmation under Door Locks.

Who did your coding?

Best bet would be an aftermarket alarm with canbus interface. But iDrive control won't be possible.

Yes you have to have the alarm hardware installed.
