This has happened in v301 and in the new v400 beta. Outside of this issue, it feels great, pulls strong and no codes.

So the issue is when I'm going about 40-50 mph and then I go wot, for example onto an expressway entrance ramp. The first time it happened I didn't pay too much attention, but it was basically screaming and not going anywhere, it felt like it didn't want to shift. Tonight, I paid closer attention, and sure enough - it hit about 7k rpm. I decided to shift with M mode, and then it started pulling a little more, but then it felt like it shifted again.

Unfortunately I don't have a log, but I'm not sure if that would tell us anything. I'm almost certain it shouldn't be hitting 7k, and it feels like crap at that rpm anyways. Has anyone else experienced this?
put "Torque Limit Active" in your logs. If the monitor shows "4" the ECU is cutting power.

I'll do that, thanks. Without logs, is it possible to know why it's doing this - too aggressive of a map for the gas?

I finally loaded v400 beta and I noticed the improved "smoothness" instantly...I also installed DCI's today and I don't know if the improved responsiveness is from the DCI's, the update or both...

Probably doesn't help, since there is no dash, but here's when it happened. You can hear it peak for a split second and then I made the quick choice to shift manually.

The engine became naughtier sounding a few years ago when my WG upgrade was done and I'd assumed that some new bmw software deployed at that time introduced that, but this seems to be a COBB thing too.

Anyhow, no codes or anything, and otherwise happy.

See attached for a various second and third gear pulls.

Is this normal?

P.m. forgot to add, keen to know before I start chucking LSD and suspension onto the car. Cheers
I am getting the same corrections but on different cylinders even on stock 0 map. [mostly 4 on aggressive, mostly 2 and 6 on stock]

If it was on single our at least cylinders that don't move about I'd know where to look but am at a total loss, especially as it affects map 0 :-(

oh well, was fun while it lasted. I've uninstalled now.

Ecu is perceiving that the torque output is too much for the tranny and cuts power. If you can confirm torque limit active is 4 I'd contact Cobb with a datalog

I had a coil pack and all 6 spark plugs replaced. after I picked the car up my cobb ap was reading these codes:
Fwd: ecu codes
H2FCA
H2FDA
H29CD
any idea what they are? I cleared them with the ap and they haven't come back yet. is this a big issue?

they are BETA maps. It's entirely possible that issues may crop up on various rom versions as they are all not tested. They will correct the issues as they pop up.

Check all your connections around the diverter valves, FMIC, vacuum lines, etc.

thank you for the advice. Does this sound like a serious issue or just something simple that needs to be tightened? Ive been having non stop issues with this car and its getting really annoying and expensive.

If it happened right after FMIC install then the FMIC connections are almost certainly your problem. If not the FMIC then i'd suspect the DVs.

I had the FMIC installed like a week and a half or two weeks ago. None of this issues came about until I took it in for the coil and spark plugs. Could it have taken that amount of time for the leak to happen after the FMIC install? So pretty much this shouldnt be anything serious?

The P30ff Code will show as soon as the targeted boost pressure isn't met.

So if you took it into a shop and they just replaced plugs/coil packs and didn't mess with anything. I wouldn't think that was the cause.

UNLESS

You're misfiring (bad plug or coil pack) even tho they are new. And its throwing the code, I have had the P30ff light come on when I was having bad misfires. Is the car "surging" after 4k rpm?

I havent had any other misfire codes. I had a misfire code before I took it to get the coils and plugs replaced. But since then no misfire codes. Only the P3OFF code and the other 3 I mentioned. the other 3 havent come back yet and neither has the P3OFF code. But something must be going on. And by surging after 4K rmps what do you mean? Also they did do something to adjust the waste gate rattle. Which they said is much better and quieter now.

Thanks for replying.

I was going to do that mate, but thought I'd give stock a go because they've only done 24k untuned miles. cannot say for sure but the pull logs coincide with slightly course feeling around 3k on a partial throttle. That started couple of years ago about when I left car with BMW for a week to sort waste gates. Wonder if they dabbled?

thought I'd leave stock for a bit then pop into garage.

Since it moves around i'd guess plugs. With just 24K I assume you're still under warranty and since the misfire occurs when "stock" i'd suggest taking it to the dealer and let them handle it.

I'm not sure if this is a coincidence... but after flashing v400, my WG rattle is way less(far more quiet). It was pretty bad before.

I know Cobb has been collecting logs on WG rattle for months now so maybe they have incorporated a fix into the V4 maps.
