No Fault Claims Companies

A Merc 4x4 got too familiar with the rear of my car! - Took it to a local body shop and they advised a new bumper skin required. The guy asked if I had reported to Ins co yet, I said no, next call after you. He then advised that he could recommend a 'no fault' claims co who would do all the work, no need to affect my insurance renewal chances.

He said it wouldn't cost me anything as they make their money from the car hire charges!

Anybody gone this route and how did it work out

Dangerous and expensive route.

I wonder how much this affects your future policies too?

They do ask the value of any previous claim and putting in the silly costs of these firms can only amplify any future quotes.

There is certainly a place for this type of service, but a no blame accident like this will still up your next renewal. Even your insurance wasn't used, the incident may fid its way on the industry database so it's best to tell your insurer, even if you don't need them to act. If you have legal protection as part of you insurance why not use that service.

There is no such thing as a 'free lunch' here.
