Removing Trim from Auto Shift Knob Pre-LCI?

I have all the other interior trim pieces (previously aluminum) wrapped in black CF fabric and am wondering if it is possible to remove the trim piece from the automatic shift know so I can wrap that as well? I tried searching through the threads but couldn't find anything. Thanks for any help!
