DAB aerial is in the rear bumper also in passenger side on e93s.

Most likely a silly question but do these bulbs need to be fit in certain way to insure both rings are illuminated to the maximum affect?

I'm just wondering because the inner ring is by far brighter than the outer.

Don't think you can go wrong as the holder has 3 different size lugs. Looking at bulb you have taken out the H8 connection should be at the top and the lugs form a "T" this lines up with lamp holder and you turn clockwise to locate the bulb. If you mark the new LED with a spot of paint at the top of the "T" insert into the lamp holder and turn anti clockwise. (This is standing in front of the car) I found the LEDs slightly out from the apertures in the chrome reflector which lead to the outer halo on first fit but a firmer grip and twist managed to get lined up a bit better. The outside halo will never get as bright as the inner due to design of the headlamp as the outer halo is fed by fibre optic from the inner light source. As Neil has previously said the outer halo is best seen from a distance.

Installed them today, hard to get a good picture but they are a huge improvement over the GP Thunders in colour especially with xenons are turned on.

The final pic shows where i cable tied the ballast. It's not that heavy but I didn't like the idea of it bashing around in the headlight housing so that seemed to be an easy solution.

Installation was a bit tricky but only took 15min and a few layers of skin from my fingers.

It does look like the shots are in the dark but the front of the car was in the light. Not exactly a bright day but what we would call daylight for 90% of the year!

Just had my MOT with them fitted, new regs should be in place now but only advisories at present not failures. What particular reg will cover the angel eyes ?

"VOSA, the government agency responsible for the MOT, has indicated that 'failures' relating to the new test items will be treated as 'advisories' in the first three months. This means that if you have any of the following problems with your car you've got until the first MOT renewal date after 1 April 2012 to get it fixed"

Products on the lens or light source that obviously reduce the light's intensity or change its colour will become a reason for failure – applies to front/rear position lamps, registration plate lamps, stop lamps, rear fog and direction indicators,

Headlight requirements are updated to take account of the particular characteristics of High Intensity Discharge (HID) lamps.

HID headlights can cause dazzle if they are dirty or aimed too high so car manufacturers must fit headlamp cleaning and levelling systems. Where HID or LED dipped beam headlamps are fitted the tester will switch on the headlamps and check the operation of any headlamp levelling and cleaning devices fitted.

The car will fail if a headlamp levelling or cleaning device is inoperative or otherwise obviously defective.

If a headlamp bulb is not seated correctly the resulting beam pattern will be indistinct and this will result in a test fail.

As I understand the new regulations from reading other posts on the subject:
Headlamp leveling & cleaning devices must be effective when fitted, but NOT having them fitted is not sufficient reason to fail the car

I was to understand that cars fitted with hid but no headlight levelling / cleaning, ie lik a retrofit, would fail.

In daylight, the LEDs may be open to debate as to whether or not they reduce the intensity of DRL's..............

As new rules take effect, then I guess we will soon read abt people's experiences.

Straight replacements wont be a problem MOT wise.

I spoke to my MOT man about the new rules. They wont be looking out for bulb changes unless they are illegal. These bulbs are fine.

Even on the subject of the Cat-less DP's as long as the emissions pass they cant see why they would fail it.
