Question N52 BMW PE - anyone's installed one in AU before?

Has anyone with a N52 e9x has had the BMW PE installed? I've been reading on and off on the other threads and there's a few things I've picked up so far:

1. The US BMWPE includes pipes while UK is just the muffler box. Also there is a diameter difference for the pipes?
2. Also if I were to source it, should I be looking at the US sites e.g., Tischer or UK sites like bmwminiparts? Does anyone bring it in locally and how much are we looking at?
3. BMW PE is not ADR compliant coz of the sound (?) - so does that mean if we're pulled over, our cars may be defected?
4. If we have it installed, would it void the warranty given BMW AU does not bring them in?

It's been on mind on whether to do it, just need more info on this before I decide. I know some of the 1-ers have that installed, so any experiences, thoughts, costs and practically of doing so. I'm not looking for an overly loud muzza - just find that the stock exhaust boring and dull

If the cops pull you over - it has BMW stamp all over the place so unless you met a cop that was a BMW fanatic and knows that the BMW PE is not ADR compliance I am sure you will be fine.

In terms of warranty is an axleback the dealer will be fine! It would be the gayest dealer ever to void your drivetrain warranty for an axleback..

Can't help you with the rest sorry

Interesting question. If it is not ADR compliant how does it effect insurance?

some insurance companies are dodgy, they'll come up with any lame excuses to deny your claim. i suggest you should check your product disclosure statement for non-ADR modification.

just because BMW Oz doesn't offer PE for N52 doesn't necessarily mean that its not ADR compliant. Just have a look at the relevant ADR (Australian Design Rule) on the web and you should be able to check yourself if its compliant or not. ADRs are actually quite liberal as they provide the 'left and right of arc' not just to aftermarket modders but the big manufacturers like Holden and Ford as well (think HSVs and FPVs).

^ The issue with ADR is that it may be subject to interpretation, and it may be interpreted differently by the insurers when it's in their favour no?

Doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of BMW PEs installed for the e9x than the 1-ers!!
