E91 Wheel Style 189 Tyre Size??

Hi, I have just bought a 2007 plate E91 325D with style 189 wheels, I have 225/40/18 tyres allround, shouldn't I have 255/35/18 on the rear?, the wheels look the same width though, my last car was a M sport and that did have wider rims on the back.
Any views will be greatly apreciated, Martin

Maybe you have setup with 4 front wheel so those are all 8 inch wide? Then it would be logical to have 225/40/18 allround.

There is also possibility that you have 8.5 wide rear with 225/40 its not uncommon.Maybe previous owner bought same size tyre to rear, when original tyres worn out.
