Have you tried driving a little faster like 45-50mph?

I would say 250 is a little warm for normal driving. But if your at the track then 250 is ok 300 is when you need to let it rest.

Typically around that mileage, I hear people's water pumps going out. I've read about them going out as early as around 65k and as late as around 140k, it just depends on the car. The symptoms usually include cooling issues, I could be wrong though.
