I would do it! Money is money and more is better. A car is never going to increase in value so I feel this is a once in a lifetime chance. I would take it.

If your a smart buyer you can buy a car and sell it and break even or even make profit. I had a acura rsx type s that I bought for $18,500 with 16k miles on it and I drove it for a full year and then sold it with 33k miles for $18,700.

If you love the car and brought it to a level of satisfaction that makes you happy, if you love the engine, the color, the options and that is the car you love, I WOULDN'T SELL IT!
If money are more important for you sell it.
However, even if you buy another one again, you still need to repair, polish, repaint, detail the next car.
I had many cars, and if I decide to sell they usually sell in one day due to the perfect shape I keep them in. I always get offers but never sell my cars regardless the price except when I am really decided that I want something else.

MONEY IS NOT EVERYTHING YOU KNOW....

Sell it immediately before the buyer realizes the err of his ways. I don't even understand why you are contemplating the offer. A profit of $4000 on a depreciating asset? Sell, Sell, Sell.

Sell, because you have an offer above what you paid. Cars are a depreciating asset and when you can make money is when you should get rid of it.

If you like the car and want to keep it, then do so.

If you get a good deal on a car part you wanted, an intercooler for example, would you sell it just because you can make a profit, or would you keep it because you actually wanted the part to begin with?

If you don't want the car, get rid of it. If you do like the car, what's the point?

Not everything should be based on the profit (or loss). As you get older (yep, that's me) time is worth a lot of money. With 2 kids, an aging parent, busy jobs, etc, my wife and I spend a lot of money on things that save time. If I had a car I really liked, getting 4k more than I spent on it might not be enough.

OP, what will you do with the money? If you're going to have to spend countless hours to find another good deal and then more hours to get it to where you want it to be, that is worth money as well. Also, if you have to spend it all to get another "depreciating asset", you haven't really made much profit.

Of course, many of us here are car nuts and spend too much time reading, washing, fixing, and hopefully driving our cars. Good luck with your decision.

Remember, as you will be selling your car at a GAIN vs a LOSS, you will have to pay taxes on that as well. So it wont exactly be a 4k gain...

Wait, were you soliciting offers for your car? Or someone just randomly said I'll give you $32k for it when you had no intention of selling?

Sounds like a scam to me.
