What fuel grade is required for this tune?
Must you run 94 Octane all the time or is 91 sufficient

Send a message via Skype™ to CQVD330
I have 2 dealers in the area of Montreal that have the station to flash my ecu. Is the 1 time free flash (in case your dealer resets everything) valid with them also or would i need to send my ecu to you in Florida?
thanks Andrew

Its valid but depending on the dealer you go to they could have a labor charge. Please give them a call and ask.

This question has probably been asked in the past 36 pages. IF the dealer decided to troubleshoot my ECU not for tunes but for other electronics (software updates/radio/alarm/whatever) would they pick up shadow codes?

Assuming the person has the Simon tool to flash back and forth.

I had to get a new battery programmed they didn't say anything about the tune and left it alone.

There should not be any shadow codes. Most dealers will not trouble shoot your ecu programming nor do most techs have the software or knowledge available. They will first reflash your ecu to a new version.

Garage List
Upgrading my 328i from stage 1 to stage 2 this Friday. Will post some feedback on it next week after the ECU settles in.

With Simon I shouldn't worry about dealer reflashing since I am able to redo it myself at home correct?

Well if they flash it to a new version you will have to read your new software version with the simon tool and send it to us so we can tune it.

The software versions must match.

Can you elaborate a bit on the Simon tool? Is that just to read codes? How much does that cost?

You might want to check out the first post in this thread. A search for Simon tool will also probably give you all or more than you want to know.

I don't think you'll have any need for a stage 1 tune. The stage 2 is better all around with no drawbacks from what I've experienced. I asked for my stock file as well and uploaded it to the device in case I need to go back to OEM.

On a regular 55 mile trip I do, I generally get 32-35 mpg. It's mostly highway driving. My best is 35 mpg before the tune going just over the speed limit with very little traffic to compete with. Just this last weekend, using stage 2, I got 34 mpg with an average speed of 59 mph including stop lights etc..
