They just play differently.
But with them winning 4/5 games against quality teams (for the most part), it shows that the Lakers really can play with or without Kobe.
Bynum, Barnes, Gasol, Sessions and World Peace all stepped up. When Kobe plays, they don't need to score as much, but Kobe being out shows that they can do it if needed.

I'm really exited for the Lakers at this point. Obviously there is always a possibility that they will win it all, but I was never counting on it for this year. Who knows. Gonna be a great post season!

i think its so retarded when people say "oh well there 5-1 or whatever without so and so" i don't understand how that is relevant besides other players stepped up. it doesn't mean that one player who is out isn't needed.

Agree 100%. Heat played better when Wade was down. Also the Knicks when Melo was down and Lin taking over.

Heat play fine without wade becuase bron and bosh step there game up but miami isnt winning a title without wade

i seriously had that game as a loss for the heat. when spoelstra sat lbj for almost the whole 4th quarter i thought he was just giving in and letting this game slide, but i guess that was not the case

They beat the Lakers and the Mavs. Although some were easy, they did not have Melo or Amare at least 5 of those games. And winning 8 in a row is not an easy thing to do, easy teams or not.

oh god let linsanity die already that kid had his 15mins of fame. they beat the lakers because there not a defensive team and the mavs are old and didn't play well in the first half of the season. Every other team they beat were below 500 big whoop! The thought of people saying the knicks was lins team made me hate knick fans that much more

Hes been awesome! but his fg% drastically taking a dive without kobe chucking over contested double teams..so he would get those easy tip in's. altho hes very young i hope he dont get over worked. These past few weeks has been great for him to get a true taste of double and triple teams(valuable for the playoffs), love how he can knock down ft's. Im still scared to face memphis lol.

I don't care about Linsanity. I was just agreeing with your post about other people stepping up when their stars are out, whic Lin did.

The Knicks were also a sub .500 team also.

Im' with you, let me take it one step further, We should just eliminate every team except for the Heat, Bulls, Thunders and maybe Lakers/Clippers...

Simply make four teams with the best players in the world... thats want these superstars want nowadays anyways...

melo is a straight up ball hog kinda like kobe but not nearly has good as him. he needs to ball at all times to be productive
