I understand it doesn't hold in place too well, what have you guys been doing to plant it?

I installed mine over the weekend. It was a breeze to install and looks nice in the engine bay.

Haven't noticed anything from a performance perspective (which i didn't plan on anyway). The turbo is slightly louder but not crazy loud. Maybe having catless downpipes drowns out the intake noise compared to being stock and quiet.

I am happy with the intake and hope to get the bracket mailed to me when they come in to help sturdy the intake.

I will try to post a video in the next few days. Have been very busy at work the past few weeks.

Oh wait it comes with a bracket too? Or is it sold separate?

The bracket wasn't available for the first 100 intakes. They weren't ready in time. Once they become available, the brackets will be sent out to the people like me who have the intake installed minus the bracket. All those after the first 100 intakes will have it included when theirs comes in the mail. Mike@N54tuning can correct me if I am wrong but it was posed many times in this thread.

Ok... Mine sounds good but at higher RPM.. at lower rpms it sounds strange, hard to explain it but its almost like one giant loud wet fart lmao... WTF is this normal? I have JB4, DP's Charge pipe and and now the BMS intake. The wooooshing sound is cool but the other sound getting to the woooshing part is really annoying as if something is loose and air is leaking.

THAT IS THE SAME PROBLEM I HAVE I TOLD THEM AND THEY SAID THAT CAN I SEND THEM PICTURES I HEAR THE SAME SOUND I TOOK IT OUT AND INSTALLED IT 3 TIMES ALREADY THE SOUND GOES AWAY FOR 1-2 HOURS BUT AFTER DRIVING AROUND THE SAME SOUND... I THINK SOMETHING KEEPS LOOSING ITSELF...BECUZ ITS OK WHEN I REINSTALL IT FOR A COUPLE HOURS..

Dude, I am seriously lmao'!! I thought the same thing with my Afe. This n55 sounds weird as shit (no pun intended) with intake. Turn your lag fix to 100 and it sounds like a quiffe Everytime you give partial throttle..

That sucking sound is what the N55 turbo sounds like when it's spooling up. You're hearing what has always been there. If one doesn't like the extra sounds they can either slow down their turbo response by setting JB4 lagfix to 0 (reducing the amount of air the turbo takes in and thus reducing the sound at low throttle) or go back to the more restrictive but quieter factory intake system.

There are definitely some unusual sounds besides the normal one that resembles a BOV release and the turbo whistle, but I don't think it sounds bad. I don't hear any queef or fart sounds lmao. At low RPM I occasionally hear an induction noise that sounds like an echoing fan or a jet. Pretty cool IMO and it's not really noticeable unless the radio is off.

Do you guys ever hear the DV release sound repeatedly at partial throttle? It's like the car doesn't know whether to boost or not so it "wooshes" a few times in a row.

Yes I hear it all the time, frankly the lower end intake/spool sound is really annoying and it makes the car sound really cheap if you ask me. I ll try to get used to it but I have a feeling it will be up for sale in a few weeks

I'm with you. It has an extremely normal sound profile for a turbo car. Big induction noise as the turbo begins to spool up, and loud DV when releasing boost. I have no idea what the bitching in here is about. And fart noises? WTF?

Commenting and asking questions is not bitching... As I have stated the top end sound is beatuiful, the low end sound is horrible. Its either you like it or hope to get used to it sound, for me since I am stuck in traffic most of the time I only hear the low end sound.

See if you can get a recording of the sound. I wouldn't think that the 135i and 335i would have different induction noises but it's weird that IancoleTX and I don't hear the same noises as some of you 335 guys.
