whats your favorite jack
I have been using the cheap jacks that I bought at pep boys and while it works, it's not that great. takes about 10 pumps to lift my car and the lifting pad is about 2 inches wide.
I want to upgrade to the rapid pump ones, nascar style. does anyone have recommendations? I am looking at a couple at harbor freight (i know their product quality is questionable). I checked sears but they only have craftsman which are very expensive. 1. which ones do you guys use? 2. is 1.5 ton jack okay? I know our cars weigh over that but figured since it's only lifting one corner of the car, it's not supporting the full car weight |

I just saw a really nice low-profile jack yesterday at Costco for about $110. The brand was Arcan, they claim it only takes about 12 pumps to get to the top lifting height of 21". It's also super low, about 4".

1.5 ton is plenty for a E9x. Craftsmen's jacks have gotten poor reviews lately, but mine has always been fine. The Arcan from Costco has good reviews. Personally I wouldn't trust a HF. AC Hydraulic is the ultimate one. Can easily jack form either the front or rear jack points and get plenty of lift.

Doesn't look like Costco sells that one anymore, or at least I can't find it on the site.
