sounds fair to me for a trade in. you'll always get less when you trade it in, but it saves you from the hassles of finding a private buyer.

yeah, I'm also probably going to sell my car to a dealer, and keep in mind that you get cash when you do this and don't have to deal with the hassles of people wanting to finance.

Some thoughts

You could spend $50 for the BMWCCA if you haven't already. I know they run specials for previous owners.

IMO, just try to sell your ride privately and get that $2k more. You're losing $2k-ish going through the dealer for convenience. It's up to you to decide if it's worth it.

Also, you mentioned "to lease another bmw" is this currently a leased vehicle? Or are you trading in financed car for the lease?

Sounds like a good deal. Factor in the hassle it will take to sell the car privately along with the expense. Additionally, take into consideration the tax credit you'll receive for trading in your car, depending on the loan this should make up your difference

Get a daily or weekly online subscription to Galves and verify your car's wholesale (trade-in) value yourself. That's the only way you'll know for sure what your car is worth to a dealer. By the way, used BMWs in top condition are usually worth a little more to BMW dealers than they are to any other type of dealer, so if a BMW dealer is offering you less than Galves, then they're trying to rip you off.
