HELPPP!!!!!!white smoke coming from engine bay!
Hi all,
I have a 2006 320i e90 which has just started to pour smoke from engine bay after being driven for 5 minutes or...I have always had a minor obvious oil leak from the rocker/valve cover gasket which I noticed through the burnt candle smell through the AC. I have taken it to a mechanic and he believes that they need to replace the brake vacuum pump, rocker cover gasket, oil filter housing gasket and fronmt engine solenmoid seals? I want to know if this is indeed the case? The smoke is white and does have a slightly different smell to that of the oil (but maybe its just me). I am startignt o notice that the coolant levels are also going down. Could this be a coolant leak somewhere which is causing the large amount of white smoke (embarrassing to drive)? Please note that their is NO smoke coming from the exhaust... |

yehhh white for coolant - thats what i thought also - i think it is obvious that somethign is leaking and dripping onto the exhaust manifold. the smoke isnt coming from near the radiator thought - like at the back of the engine itself (or even more towards the passanger side in AUS).
