Honest Motors is the sole distributor for Infiniti in HK.

I even heard they try to convince people to have their engine washed on their first service. WTF?!

It depends on the warranty clause, if it's "bumper to bumper" then it's fine. Obviously to keep it valid u must service the car at DCH at the required intervals. That's the same for all brands, no 2 ways abt it.
It'll be a rip-off if the warranty excludes key mechanical items or u have to pay excess if sth goes wrong.
Engine wash is sold even if u drive an Audi, u can just decline it. I did it during the 1st service on my Audi cos I want to wash the bits out after running-in from new.

Guess how Dai Cheong would do?! They free the first service labour, but you still have to pay for parts and oil. They even charge you for wiper wash fuild(which is bloodily free at petrol station). If you bring your own oil and oil filer, they may charge you something like $300. If you don't, they will charge you close to 2k. After the first service, the cost will be between 3-5k for every 5000km. If I keep on going back for service, the running cost for a bloodily Nissan will be more than my bimmer.

As for the dealership right, you will only see it from then"water" good dealers if Dai Choeng doesn't import it. It is just the way how they monopoly the market. In reality, HK car market is just too small.
I had an Audi & servicing with DCH is not expensive. Everything is all inclusive & some work are done free (e.g. they fixed the stuck steering wheel adjuster for free after warranty expired). When I spoke to the SA he told me it's more expensive to service a Honda Jazz at DCH than an Audi at DCH, cos the Audi only needs a visit once a yr whereas the Honda needs twice, & the servicing cost of the Honda is more than 50% of the Audi per visit.

Yup, my friend drives a current generation Honda Stream and he was complaining just like trekker about what a bunch of rip-offs DCH is. I have driven my friend's Stream and it handles pretty well for what is essentially a civic wagon (and looks better than the Toyota Wish too), but when I look at the bills from DCH that my friend has to pay for maintenance, it costs way more than what my bimmer would have cost! I thought those cost were exceptions or one-off but if trekker is right, then it's no exception!

I actually never heard of any brand new cars require engine wash on first service until I heard people saying Dai Choeng suggests it. Whether its necessary or not, its up to each individual to decide. However if they think it's necessary they should make it as part of the 1st service, not as an option. They also sell anti corrosive spray job on first service. Its not that like the cars didnt come with any. In my case, not until I took the wheels off when I changed my rims then I realized how little spray they used and how poorly it was done. There was even some spray marks left on my stock rims which took me a while to get rid of.

I always believe "You get what you pay for" but it's just not the case with Tai Cheong. I am just not pleased how they do business whereas I am quite happy with BMWHK.

That's under Dah Chong correct? If memory serves, DCH also did bring Honda's Acura to Hong Kong, but it's not here anymore. That may bode poorly for Infiniti. But that may also has to do with the unattractive product line of Acura (for HK buyers) and DCH may have learnt lessons from Acura so we'll see. So I don't think BMW should totally relax, even if Infiniti has an upheld struggle to establish themselves in HK.
