For comparison purposes, here are the dyno graphs from my two sessions. The first one couldnt pull an RPM signal, so HP only. The second has HP and TQ. To those that may wonder, the first chart is not of a supercharged M3, the dyno operator forgot to change the run names!
First session max HP was 328.61, no TQ numbers. STD correction. Second session max HP was 299.59, max TQ was 474.31. STD correction. Changing these results to Smoothing 3 instead of 5 bumps HP and TQ by about 1 each (not much of a difference). I can post that up too if anyone cares, just have to go back into WinPep and print/convert into JPG. Both sessions were run on Dynojets (although different Dynojets in different shops). Car had JBD set to 100% and an open element intake with heatshield. I wont get involved in the dyno debate but overall, I'm really impressed with your tune. Great numbers overall and the power/torque curves look awesome. Now someone needs to get on the DPF delete! |

It would be nice if they could plot boost too. Not that we have much if any info to compare that to but, we are only in the early stages of gathering data. The dyno dynamics dyno I used to go to was able to plot boost an AFR.

I love how flat that power curve is. Looks like the D, even in stock configuration, is making at least 90% of its peak power from just over 3K rpm.

My gloss from this without plotting is that the JBD and the Evolve tune are quite comparable in terms of results. You might be able to squeeze a few more drops of juice out of the tune, PLUS no check engine light...but thats a tradeoff for having to flash.

true, but you can't unflash and reflash yourself when you have to go into the stealership for warranty work...with the JBD you can take it off and clear all codes and you are good to go...essentially its a huge amount of convenience vs. ~20whp...
I am more excited about the methanol injection testing and future nitrous applications to this motor... Last edited by Bowser330; 03-29-2012 at 12:32 PM.. |

Stock boost is around 28PSI (although I've heard pushes up to 31-32). JBD doesn't touch the boost, since it only hooks into the ECU (there is a separate boost sensor further back, towards the firewall).

Well car is flashed back to stock so that I can go to service and get the recall performed.
If anyone is interested in throwing down some money for a stock pull on dean's performance dynojet I'm willing to drive out there and do it. You can probably just paypal the shop directly.

Not to open up a can of worms but... have you confirmed with Evolve that they will be able to reflash the car after the recall? It would suck if they changed something as part of the recall that put the flash tuners back to square one.
I really doubt that is the case but, I'm sure someone will bring it up sooner or later. |

Either way I hope it's not a concern as I would prefer a reflash to piggyback setup. |
