wheel installation in the boston area?

i went to goodyear tire service since it's the first recommended shop on tirerack's list.... and it seemed like they knew less than me. which is not much lol.

first i tell him i need some wheels mounted on my car, he says they dont sell rims.

i said i have the rims w/ tires, i just need you to put them on. he says they probably cant because of the tire sizes

he says they have to charge me for every tpms they pull from the oem wheels and then charge me for unmounting and rebalancing the new wheels... fine.

then he comes back and says he wont be able to get the tpms to work... (mind you he hasnt even looked at the car or the wheels on it). i said bye.

i have 19" staggered stance sc-5 wheels that i want to get on my e92 with the original tpms in them. who in the area should i go with?

was hoping to get it done today, but it looks like it's not going to happen...

Please share your experience with East Side Motoring in terms of quality and cost of service. I will have my new wheels this weekend to be mounted as well.

alright, first of all lorenzo is awesome to work with. the guy really knows his wheel and he's owned many a bimmer in his time. it took a while since i had no appointment and they had a lot of cars in there...

they only charged me for one sensor removal from the oems. he also pointed out to me that my valve stems were of two different types of metals (which actually explains why my run flats lose so much damn air). the tpms work flawlessly btw.

so total damge for 4 sensor removals, inserting in the new wheels, mounting, balancing and installing, and 4 new valve stems was $130!

please excuse these horrible pictures but the flash on my camera wasnt working because i drained the battery in the waiting room, and it's pretty dark out. to be perfectly honest the wheel gap is wayyyyyyyyyy better than i thought it was going to be. maybe because i went with a slightly fatter tire? (235/35/19 - 265/30/19).

e92 xi stock suspension:

these look amazing in person

Try Royal Rim and Tire in Arlington. Ask for John or Jerry. Their actually the ones who started eastside in Waltham and sold it to Lorenzo.

I believe I saw your car on Tuesday evening. Were you around Mission Hill area that evening?

I just went to Tire Liner in Brookline to get one of my front tires replaced, because apparently it had a 'hop' on it which was causing a vibration above 50mph. However, the guy at TL said that he wasn't able to balance it "because it was too heavy" and said that if it were to vibrate I should bring it back. I drove out, and 10 minutes later I realized that it was 10 times worse than before.. Ugh. WHY ARE THE TIRES WITH THESE CARS SUCH A PITA?! I've had some or the other problem with the wheels/tires since I bought the car, I just want to enjoy my ride...

Guys,

I've had great luck with Sullivan Tire. They can handle 19" wheels/tires with no problem, and their Nashua, NH location has the Hunter Road Force balancing and mounting machines (which, IMO are the only mounting or balancing machines that should be used on high performance, expensive wheels/tires).

FYI, I always call and ask what brand/model wheel balancing equipment the shop has before I take my car there.
