n55 jb4 install help - BMW 3-Series (E90 E92) Forum

hey guys how you doing

so i just got my jb4 in the mail im pretty excited

but im alittle nervous installing it myself. I had a 325 before and put a tune in it and it seemed more straight forward. Anyone around here install the jb4 on the n55 engine at a certain shop or did it on your own that could teach me how to do it/ help me install it?

ps im going for my first service on saturday march 26 at herb chambers so i plan on installing it after that.

I'm friends with the kid with the 135i and he's pretty good with installing these were always at dunks where u park

yea i traded my loved gti for the e90 .. its a totally diffrent car but suites me better then the gti did..

i installed it lastnight i couldnt wait till next week, went for a short drive deff can feel the difference. ill have more fun with it today

It depends, what work are you going in for? Regular service or mechanical issues? If regular service then don't worry about it.

I would probably take mine out just because I ride with the cowl off (so I can hear the turbos spool

) and the fact that if I'm ever going into BMW service it's for mechanical issues since I'm out of maintenance warranty and only have CPO left

Im going in for just a normal service oil change, filter change regular maintenace warranty service.

They shouldn't have a reason to even know about it then right?

If he's cleared the codes and set it back to Map 0 then he's set, if not.. start praying!
