Why does ignition advance so much during the first ~1.3 seconds of the datalog prior to you depressing the accellerator?

That does look good, but your IAT's are about 20degC .. Mine are 38-40degC :-(

I think it is normal to run a lot of ignition advance under light load. I don't actually know the reasoning behind it though.

Because there is no boost. When there is no boost the DME will advance timing as if the car was NA. When the DME transitions into spool mode the DME then pulls the timing

Here's one without meth...note that the boost is identically high at 16psi max...

That's a pretty good graph for not using meth. Even your IAT's are up to about what I'm seeing (~38degC) and you're still able to have good timing w/ high boost. What octane gas were you using for that?

For what it's worth, on AZ 91oct fuel w/o meth and the high IAT's, I really can't seem to run much more than 11-12psi without seeing timing drop. :-(

The graph without meth looks not that good to me... Timings post shift are aweful.

Honestly, until Vishnu implements global timing logging you still don't know how your timing looks

OP you should be able to run 14psi+. Your iats are too high for meth... You're fbo + vishnu pwm right? I usually see <80degF, even when 100deg ambient... Our dry air will show much greater temp swings then other areas.

I target about 8 deg advance in the mid-range ramped to about 11deg at 6000rpm with boost at 14.5ish midrange. Somethings not right in your setup with 35+ C iats.

Ill check my logs again soon to confirm.

Nope, not FBO.. Only mods are PROcede + PWN meth. Maybe an intercooler upgrade is in order to try and keep these temps down. Also for some reason I don't see the temp drops you do with meth.. Sometimes during a pull I might see up to about a 6degF drop, but I remember awhile back you were showing like 11degF drops. For some reason I can't seem to match that, even with slightly more concentrated meth than a 50/50 mix.

In that graph I am using 93 octane gas with GIAC Stage 2 93 octane maps. However the 91 octane map graph looks as good as this one, with a bit lower timing in the low-midrange (up to 2.5 degrees difference at low RPMs and 0.5-1degree at high RPMs - from my analysis). But I had GIAC flash the 93 octane maps, the car is a lot more livelier in the lower RPMs (<3500) with these.
