Can only do one. Intake or Air Filter.

People are gonna say get the DCI's because their cheap. ($100)
I personally prefer the look of the AFE duel cone. (Yes it's more expensive but it's a quality looking part) |

He has an N55. Theres no DCI for it. The intake won't give you really much performance mod, but if you're looking for the cool whoosh sound, then i'd say get it over the filter. I ended up swapping my AFE filter for a BMS intake and I love it.

It's one or the other man. The intake is technically your new filter.

What i think about intakes...
![]() Open intakes just suck hot air from the motor bay... Stock intake can cope with a lot more HP! And if you really wan't more performance, take a bigger closed one Like the Alpina one! |

I tried the replacement filter, then the BMS intake.
The BMS intake is alot better. It also doesn't matter where the intake is cause the air being pulled in goes through a very hot turbo then through the FMIC, The FMIC is where the air is cooled before going into the engine. An intake will not give much power unless you are fully bolted on, and even then it's minimal.

![]() It is pretty simple: OPEN intake: nice sound CLOSED intake: stock performance, temp better stabil UPGRADED CLOSED intake: possible higher performance For me upgraded intake comes after dp, exhaust, fmic,... |

there already were a couple cases long before this..
It's not as notorious as it was on the n54's when they first came out,
