The catted AR downpipe plus JB4 map 2 sounds great, performs well, and doesn't give the smell nearly as badly as the catless variant. If you're in a garage with the windows down and stopped you might smell a little bit, or the car behind you might smell a bit when you're running rich... but again as long as you're not looking for the full power and just want the sound, smell and ability to run map2 it's definitely worth it. Running AR catted + vanguard exhaust the car sounds like a beast.
Can you run Map 2 with 91 gas?

You'd be better off asking Terry, I know you can run Map 2 with 93 octane without a problem.

I don't think thats something thats generally recommended, especially on the N55. Its pretty much 93+ for map2 and some guys even use octane boosters with 93.

I'm an XDrive guy and was thinking about catted to avoid the smell and hassle with emissions. But I am seeing that N55 Xdrives have midpipe cats like the N54 when searching. Dont really get why BMW does this on XDrive and not the I - besides the point.
So any XDrive guys out there with catless DP and Stock XDrive exhaust have any issues with smell, or deterioration of midpipe cats over time?
